1. Introduction to the Book of Prayer

2. The Juristic Sequence: Purification as the Key to Prayer

التَّرْتِيبُ الْفِقْهِيُّ: تَقْدِيمُ الطَّهَارَةِ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ • Sequence: Purification is studied before prayer because it is a condition for the validity of prayer. • In the previous course, you studied the basic rulings of Wudu, Ghusl, Tayammum, and purification. • Now you will learn the rulings concerning the validity and performance of prayer.

3. What You Will Learn

• This course covers five major areas: ◦ Prayer times and the rulings of Adhan and Iqamah. ◦ The conditions, pillars, and necessary acts of prayer. ◦ Congregational prayer, Imamah, and things that invalidate prayer. ◦ Prayer for travelers and sick people, Friday and Eid prayers, and eclipse prayers. ◦ Prostration of forgetfulness, recitation prostrations, and funeral rulings.

4. Main Learning Goals

• By the end of this course, you will be able to: ◦ Recognize valid, prohibited, and disliked prayer times. ◦ Distinguish the obligatory, necessary, and Sunnah acts of prayer. ◦ Recognize things that invalidate prayer and acts that are disliked in prayer. ◦ Understand how prayer is performed during travel, illness, and fear.
