2. The Core Three Obligations (Mouth, Nose, & Body)

Source text غَسْلُ الْفَمِ، وَالْأَنْفِ، وَالْبَدَنِ مَرَّةً • Obligation 1: Washing the mouth (Madmadah). Water must be thoroughly rinsed throughout the oral cavity, including under the tongue and behind the molars. • Obligation 2: Washing the nose (Istinshaq). Water must be drawn up into the nostrils up to the soft bone. • Obligation 3: Washing the entire outer body once, ensuring that not a single spot of skin or hair remains dry. • Crucial Distinction: While rinsing the mouth and nose is classified as Sunnah in Wudu, it is strictly Fard (obligatory) in Ghusl.

3. Cleaning Recesses (Foreskin, Navel, & Piercings)

Source text وَدَاخِلُ قُلْفَةٍ لَا عُسْرَ فِي فَسْخِهَا، وَسُرَّةٌ، وَثُقْبٌ غَيْرُ مُنْضَمٍّ • Obligation 4: Washing the inside of the prepuce (uncircumcised foreskin - Dakhil qulfah), provided that retracting it is not difficult or painful (la 'usr fi faskhiha). • Obligation 5: Washing the inside of the navel (Surrah), as dirt easily collects inside its folds and water must be directed there. • Obligation 6: Washing any unclosed piercing/hole (such as ear or nose piercings - Thaqb ghayr mundamm). If jewelry is worn, it must be rotated; if not, water must be deliberately guided inside the hole.

4. Man's Braids & Beard Skin Rules

Regardless of how thick the beard is, water must reach the actual facial skin underneath.

5. Mustache, Eyebrows, and Outer Private Parts

6. The Concession on Women's Braided Hair

Source text فَلَا يَجِبُ نَقْضُ الْمَضْفُورِ مِنْ شَعْرِ الْمَرْأَةِ إلَّا إِنْ لَمْ يَصِلْ الْمَاءُ إلَى أُصُولِهِ • The Legal Concession for Women: In the Hanafi school, a woman is NOT required to undo her braids when performing Ghusl. • The Condition: The water must successfully reach the roots (Usool) of the hair and thoroughly wet the scalp without undoing the braids. • The Exception: If the braids are so tightly bound that water cannot reach the scalp/roots, the concession is revoked, and she must undo her braids to wash the roots. • Comparative Summary: A man must always undo his braids (Mutlaqan), whereas a woman is excused due to the length and difficulty of hair care, provided the roots are wet.
