1. The Twelve Sunnahs of Ghusl (Sunnahs 1–6)

Source text يُسَنُّ فِي الِاغْتِسَالِ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَيْئًا: الِابْتِدَاءُ بِالتَّسْمِيَةِ، وَالنِّيَّةُ، وَغَسْلُ يَدَيْهِ... • Sunnah 1: Beginning the bath by reciting the Basmalah. • Sunnah 2: Making the intention (Niyyah) to remove major impurity. • Sunnah 3: Washing both hands up to the wrists (Rusghayn) first. • Sunnah 4: Washing away any physical impurity present on a specific part of the body. • Sunnah 5: Washing the private parts thoroughly. • Sunnah 6: Performing a complete Wudu in the same manner as for prayer (including threefold washing).

2. The Sunnah of Foot Wash Delay in Ghusl

Source text وَلَكِتَّهُ يُؤَخِّرُ غَسْلَ الرِّجْلَيْنِ إِنْ كَانَ يَقِفُ فِي مَحَلِّ يَجْتَمِعُ فِيهِ الْمَاءُ • The Ruling: Delaying the washing of the feet during the introductory Wudu: • The Legal Condition: If the person is washing in a place where the used/soiled water pools and collects (like an unpaved floor), they must NOT wash their feet during Wudu. • They delay washing the feet until the very end of the Ghusl to prevent the dirty water from re-contaminating them. • The Exception: If water does not pool but drains away immediately (like a modern sloped tile floor), they wash their feet along with the introductory Wudu.

3. Pouring Sequence, Rubbing, & Water Submersion

Source text ثُمَّ يُفِيضُ الْمَاءَ عَلَى بَدَنِهِ ثَلَاثًا، وَلَوْ انْغَمَسَ فِي الْمَاءِ الْجَارِي... • Sunnah 7: Pouring water over the entire body three times. • Sunnah 8: Submerging (Inghamasa) in running water (or a massive pool) and staying for a moment, which fulfills the Sunnah of threefold washing. • Sunnah 9: Beginning the pour by directing water over the head. • Sunnah 10: Pouring water over the right shoulder (Mankib al-Ayman) next. • Sunnah 11: Pouring water over the left shoulder next. • Sunnah 12: Rubbing (Dalk) the entire body with the hands, and performing the actions continuously without pause.

4. Etiquettes & Disliked Acts: Omitting the Qiblah

Source text وَآدَابُ الِاغْتِسَالِ هِيَ آدَابُ الْوُضُوءِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَا يَسْتَقْبِلُ الْقِبْلَةَ • The Etiquette Rule: The etiquettes of Ghusl are identical to those of Wudu (such as sitting on an elevated surface and remaining silent). • The Major Exception (Qiblah Orientation): Unlike Wudu, the person performing Ghusl must NOT face the Qiblah. This is because Ghusl is typically performed naked, and facing the Qiblah while exposed is highly disliked. • Disliked Acts: Anything disliked (Makruh) in Wudu (such as wasting water or speaking of worldly affairs) is equally disliked in Ghusl.

5. The Four Sunnah Baths of Islamic Worship

6. Recommended Baths Part 1 (Ghusls 1 to 8)

7. Recommended Baths Part 2 (Ghusls 9 to 16)
