1. Emphasized Daily Sunnahs (Part 1)

سُنَّ سُنَّةً مُؤَكَّدَةً رَكْعَتَانِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ، وَأَرْبَعٌ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ بِتَسْلِيمَةٍ وَرَكْعَتَانِ بَعْدَهُ • Status of Sunnah Mu'akkadah: Emphasized Prophetic practices that the Prophet ﷺ performed regularly and rarely omitted without a valid excuse. Their performance carries high legal emphasis. • Fajr Sunnah: Two (2) rak'ahs before the obligatory Fajr prayer. This is the most heavily emphasized of all voluntary prayers. • Zuhr Sunnahs: * Four (4) rak'ahs before the obligatory Zuhr prayer with a single salutation (Taslim). ◦ Two (2) rak'ahs after the obligatory Zuhr prayer.

2. Emphasized Daily Sunnahs (Part 2)

وَرَكْعَتَانِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ، وَرَكْعَتَانِ بَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ، وَسِتُّ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي الْجُلُوسِ الْأَوَّلِ مِنَ الرُّبَاعِيَّةِ الْمُؤَكَّدَةِ • Maghrib Sunnah: Two (2) rak'ahs after the obligatory Maghrib prayer. • Isha Sunnah: Two (2) rak'ahs after the obligatory Isha prayer. • Total Daily Count: This establishes a total of twelve (12) rak'ahs of emphasized Sunnahs during the day and night. • Sitting in 4-Unit Sunnahs: In the first sitting (al-Qa'dah al-Ula) of the 4-unit emphasized Sunnahs (like Zuhr's first 4 units), it is necessary (Wajib) to limit the recitation to the Tashahhud only. One must not add blessings (Salawat) or supplications before standing for the third unit.

3. Recommended Voluntary Prayers (Mandub)

وَنُدِبَ أَرْبَعٌ قَبْلَ الْعَصْرِ، وَقَبْلَ الْعِشَاءِ، وَبَعْدَهَا، وَسِتٌّ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ • Concept of Mandub: Voluntary prayers (Nawafil) whose performance is legally rewarded but whose omission carries no sin, blame, or reprimand. • Praiseworthy Units: 1. Before Asr: Performing four (4) rak'ahs before the obligatory Asr prayer with one salutation (or in pairs of two). ◦ Before Isha: Performing four (4) rak'ahs before the obligatory Isha prayer. ◦ After Isha: Performing four (4) rak'ahs (or two) after the Sunnah of Isha. ◦ After Maghrib (Awwabin): Performing six (6) voluntary rak'ahs after the obligatory and Sunnah units of Maghrib.

4. Structural Rules of Voluntary Units

وَكُلُّ شَفْعٍ مِنَ النَّفْلِ صَلَاةٌ عَلَى حِدَةٍ، وَيُلْزَمُ الْقَعْدَةُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ • Status of Pairs: Every two rak'ahs of voluntary (Nafal) and non-emphasized Sunnah prayers are legally treated as an independent prayer module. • Mandatory Sitting: Sitting and reciting the Tashahhud after every two rak'ahs is strictly obligatory (Fard) in voluntary prayers by consensus. • Recitation Scope: Reciting Surah al-Fatihah followed by an appended Surah/verses is necessary (Wajib) in every single rak'ah of voluntary and Witr prayers. • Transitioning to the 3rd Unit: When rising for the third unit in non-emphasized voluntary prayers, it is recommended to repeat the opening supplication (Thana') and seek refuge (Ta'awwudh), as this pair is treated independently of the preceding two units.
