Lesson

1. Introduction to Present Negation (نفی بـ لا)

◦ Negative Present Verb (مضارع منفی): Expresses that an action is not currently being done, or will not be done in the future. ◦ Rule: It is constructed by prefixing the negative particle لَا (Laa of Negation) directly to the active or passive positive present verb. ◦ It translates as: "He does not do / will not do" (Active) or "third-person singular masculine negative passive" (Passive).

2. The Particle "Laa" is Non-Governing (ہیچ عمل نکند)

◦ In Arabic, some particles are governing (causing physical changes to endings), and some are non-governing (غیر عامل / ہیچ عمل نکند). ◦ The particle لَا is non-governing. ◦ Adding لَا causes zero physical, structural, or phonetic changes to the vowels, letters, or ending Noons of the present verb..

3. Complete Active Negation Table (مضارع منفی معروف)

5. Practical Parsing & Translation Practice

Using the root نَصَرَ (to help) as an example to illustrate practical negative present conjugation: • Active Negation: ◦ لَا يَنْصُرُ → He does not help / will not help ◦ لَا تَنْصُرِيْنَ → You (1 female) do not help / will not help (Singular Feminine Addressed / واحد مؤنث حاضر) • Passive Negation: ◦ لَا يُنْصَرُ → He is not helped / will not be helped ◦ لَا تُنْصَرِيْنَ → You (1 female) are not helped / will not be helped (Singular Feminine Addressed Passive) ◦ Note how active forms carry a Fathah on the prefix يَـ and passive forms carry a Dhummah on the prefix يُـ with a Fathah on the middle root letter ـصَـ. The particle لَا behaves identically in both.
