Rule 2: lā of absolute negation (lā nāfiyah li-l-jins) When لَا enters a nominal sentence and is followed by an indefinite noun that is in the accusative form (with one fatḥah and no tanwin), it is called lā nāfiyah li-l-jins. - It completely negates the category named by the following noun, giving the meaning 'there is no ... at all.'
