Lesson
1. سُورَةُ المسد
The surah shows that wealth and status cannot save a person who knowingly opposes the truth. It is a Makki surah with 5 ayahs. بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
2. تَبَّتْ يَدَآ أَبِى لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ ﴿١﴾
May the hands of Abū Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he.
3. مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ ﴿٢﴾
His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained.
4. سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ ﴿٣﴾
He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame
5. وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّالَةَ ٱلْحَطَبِ ﴿٤﴾
And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood.
6. فِى جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّن مَّسَدٍۭ ﴿٥﴾
Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber.
7. Summary
The surah shows that wealth and status cannot save a person who knowingly opposes the truth.
