1. Surah Al-Qari‘ah · Ayah 7

فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ ۝٧ Sentence structure فَ introduces the result. هُوَ is the subject and فِى عِيشَةٍ its predicate phrase; رَّاضِيَةٍ is a genitive adjective of عِيشَةٍ. Ayah summary He will be in a pleasing and comfortable life. فَهُوَ — then he Grammar: Result فَ precedes detached masculine-singular topic pronoun هُوَ, whose predicate is omitted. فِى — in Grammar: A preposition beginning فِى عِيشَةٍۢ, a phrase linked to the omitted predicate of هُوَ. عِيشَةٍۢ — a life Grammar: An indefinite feminine genitive noun after فِى. رَّاضِيَةٍۢ — pleasant Grammar: An indefinite feminine genitive active-participle adjective of عِيشَةٍ.

2. Surah Al-Qari‘ah · Ayah 8

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ ۝٨ Sentence structure وَأَمَّا coordinates the contrasting detail. Conditional مَنْ is followed by خَفَّتْ as condition verb; مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ is its nominative subject. Ayah summary And the one whose scales of deeds are light will face loss. وَأَمَّا — And as for Grammar: وَ coordinates and أَمَّا introduces contrasting detail. مَنْ — whoever Grammar: A conditional noun introducing the second condition. خَفَّتْ — are light Grammar: A third-person feminine-singular perfect functioning as the condition verb. مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ — his scales Grammar: A masculine-plural nominative subject; attached هُ is possessive.

3. Surah Al-Qari‘ah · Ayah 9

فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌ ۝٩ Sentence structure فَ introduces the result. أُمُّهُۥ is a nominative subject with possessive هُ, and هَاوِيَةٌ is its nominative predicate. Ayah summary His dwelling will be a deep abyss. فَأُمُّهُۥ — then his abode Grammar: Result فَ precedes feminine nominative subject أُمُّ; هُ is possessive. هَاوِيَةٌۭ — is the Abyss Grammar: An indefinite feminine nominative active-participle noun functioning as predicate.

4. Surah Al-Qari‘ah · Ayah 10

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ ۝١٠ Sentence structure وَ resumes. First interrogative مَآ is followed by Form IV أَدْرَىٰكَ with object كَ. The second مَا introduces the object-question, and هِيَهْ is its predicate expression with pause هْ. Ayah summary This question emphasizes the dreadful reality of that abyss. وَمَآ — And what Grammar: وَ resumes and مَآ is interrogative. أَدْرَىٰكَ — could make you know Grammar: A Form IV third-person masculine-singular perfect whose subject is the hidden pronoun «هُوَ»; attached كَ is its object. مَا — what Grammar: An interrogative noun introducing the object-question. هِيَهْ — it is Grammar: A feminine-singular detached pronoun functioning as predicate expression; final هْ is the pause hāʾ.

5. Surah Al-Qari‘ah · Ayah 11

نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ ۝١١ Sentence structure An understood feminine pronoun is the subject. نَارٌ is its nominative predicate and حَامِيَةٌ a feminine nominative adjective. Ayah summary It is an intensely hot, blazing fire. نَارٌ — a Fire Grammar: نَارٌ is the predicate of the hidden pronoun «هِيَ», and حَامِيَةٌۢ describes the fire. حَامِيَةٌۢ — intensely hot Grammar: An indefinite feminine nominative active-participle adjective of نَارٌ.
