Lesson

1. سُورَةُ الزلزلة

The surah describes the earth's final earthquake and teaches that even the smallest deed will be shown. It is a Madani surah with 8 ayahs. بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

2. إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا ﴿١﴾

When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake

3. وَأَخْرَجَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا ﴿٢﴾

And the earth discharges its burdens

4. وَقَالَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا لَهَا ﴿٣﴾

And man says, 1 "What is [wrong] with it?" -

5. يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا ﴿٤﴾

That Day, it will report its news

6. بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا ﴿٥﴾

Because your Lord has inspired [i.e., commanded] it.

7. يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا۟ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ ﴿٦﴾

That Day, the people will depart 1 separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds.

8. فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُۥ ﴿٧﴾

So whoever does an atom's weight 1 of good will see it,

9. وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُۥ ﴿٨﴾

And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.
