1. Transitioning to Sunnah Prayers After the Fard

• Core Rule: Upon completing the obligatory (Fard) prayer, it is Sunnah to immediately stand up to perform the established Sunnah prayers that follow it. • Intermediary Interval: There is no legal harm in reciting short Prophetic supplications or seeking forgiveness (Istighfar) between the Fard and Sunnah units. • Disapproved Delay: Engaging in lengthy worldly conversations or lingering excessively between the Fard and Sunnah prayers without a valid excuse is legally disliked (Makruh), as it breaks the recommended continuity.

2. Recommended Postures of the Imam After Salaam

وَيُسْتَحَبُّ لِلْإِمَامِ بَعْدَ سَلَامِهِ أَنْ يَتَحَوَّلَ إِلَى يَسَارِهِ لِتَطَوُّعٍ بَعْدَ الْفَرِيضَةِ • Imam's Shift of Direction: It is recommended (Mustahabb) for the Imam, after uttering the Salaam, to turn towards his left (or right) to perform any voluntary prayers after the Fard. • Facing the Congregation: If the Imam is to remain seated or if there are no subsequent Sunnah prayers (such as after Fajr and Asr), it is recommended for him to turn his face directly towards the congregation. • The Condition: This recommendation of facing the worshippers applies provided that there is no latecomer (Masbuq) standing directly in front of him completing their missed units.

3. Seeking Forgiveness, Ayat al-Kursi, & Mu'awwidhat

وَأَنْ يَسْتَقْبِلَ النَّاسَ بَعْدَهُ... وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ اللهَ وَيَقْرَؤُونَ آيَةَ الْكُرْسِيِّ وَالْمُعَوِّذَاتِ • Seeking Forgiveness: It is Sunnah to seek Allah's forgiveness three times (by saying Astaghfirullah) immediately after the Salaam. • Reciting Ayat al-Kursi: It is highly recommended to recite Ayat al-Kursi after every obligatory prayer. • The Mu'awwidhat: Reciting Surah al-Falaq and Surah al-Nas (al-Mu'awwidhatayn) after the obligatory prayers is also legally recommended. • These remembrances are legislated to preserve the transmitted remembrance of the worshipper and preserve the transmitted counts.

4. The Tasbih of Fatimah & Raising Hands for Supplication

وَيُسَبِّحُونَ اللهَ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ، وَيَحْمَدُونَهُ كَذَلِكَ، وَيُكَبِّرُونَهُ كَذَلِكَ... ثُمَّ يَدْعُونَ لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلِلْمُسْلِمِينَ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيهِمْ • The Tasbih of Fatimah: It is Sunnah to glorify Allah after the obligatory prayers using the following count: ◦ Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah): 33 times. ◦ Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah): 33 times. ◦ Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest): 33 times. ◦ Completion: Recite the testimony of unity (La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu...) once to complete the count of one hundred. • Supplication: Worshippers should raise their hands to supplicate for themselves and all Muslims. • Wiping the Face: At the conclusion of the supplication, it is recommended to wipe the face with both hands.
