● Study the spelling and case endings of the following adjectival phrases: ○ A righteous man: -> رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ (Both the noun and adjective are indefinite.) ○ A good boy: -> وَلَدٌ طَيِّبٌ (or اَلْوَلَدُ الطَّيِّبُ). ○ The Wise Qur'an: -> اَلْقُرْآنُ الْحَكِيمُ (Both the noun and adjective are definite.) ○ The straight path: -> اَلصِّرَاطُ الْمُسْتَقِيمُ. ○ A just ruler: -> حَاكِمٌ عَادِلٌ (The noun described is indefinite.) ○ A long war: -> حَرْبٌ طَوِيلَةٌ (حَرْبٌ is feminine by established Arabic usage, so the adjective is feminine.) ○ Two righteous male teachers: -> مُعَلِّمَانِ صَالِحَانِ. ○ Two hardworking female teachers: -> مُعَلِّمَتَانِ مُجْتَهِدَتَانِ. ○ Two new cars: -> سَيَّارَتَانِ جَدِيدَتَانِ. ○ Two old books: -> كِتَابَانِ قَدِيمَانِ.

● Let us learn to translate plural and colour adjectives: ○ Righteous women: -> نِسَاءٌ صَالِحَاتٌ (صَالِحَاتٌ is a feminine plural adjective.) ○ Tall men: -> رِجَالٌ طِوَالٌ (طِوَالٌ is a broken plural adjective meaning 'tall.') ○ A yellow cow: -> بَقَرَةٌ صَفْرَاءُ (صَفْرَاءُ is a diptote colour.) ○ A blue handkerchief: -> مِنْدِيلٌ أَزْرَقُ (The masculine colour أَزْرَقُ is a diptote.) ○ Open windows: -> نَوَافِذُ مَفْتُوحَةٌ (A feminine singular adjective with a non-rational plural noun.) ○ Closed doors: -> أَبْوَابٌ مُغْلَقَةٌ. ○ Beautiful clocks: -> سَاعَاتٌ جَمِيلَةٌ. ○ Beneficial knowledge: -> عِلْمٌ نَافِعٌ. ○ An accepted deed: -> عَمَلٌ مَقْبُولٌ. ○ Pure provision: -> رِزْقٌ طَيِّبٌ.
